When Christ came the first time, He came as the meek and lowly Lamb of God whose mission was to die for the sins of the world. But when He comes the second time, He is coming as a mighty conqueror—as King of kings, and Lord of lords (Revelation 17:14; 19:16)—and He will wage war with the nations who oppose Him (Revelation 13:7; 17:14; 19:11). But before worldwide reconstruction can commence, Christ must deal with His enemies—and they are many. He must “destroy them which destroy the earth” (Revelation 11:18). The next holy day, the Day of Atonement, describes how our ultimate enemy, the great dragon, “was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him” (Revelation 12:9). Sabbath Services

Greetings Everyone,

On Sabbath, May 31st the Springfield, Missouri Congregation will be visiting the Springdale, Arkansas Congregation for services. We will not have services at the IBEW Hall on May 31st, 2014.

We wish everyone a great Sabbath and we will see you the following Sabbath at our regular time (Noon) at the IBEW Building at 2902 E. Division, Springfield, MO.

Church of God Picnic

Dunnegan Memorial ParkGreetings Everyone,

The Springfield, Missouri congregation will have a Church of God Picnic on Sunday, June 15th, 2014 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.  at Dunnegan Memorial Park, Shelter #3 in Bolivar, Missouri.  All Churches of God are invited to participate. Let us know if you are coming so we can prepare enough food.

Lunch will be served at Noon.

The Church will furnish the hotdogs, hamburgers, buns, condiments and all napkins, plates, cups, bowls, utensils and serving utensils.  Please bring side dishes, chips, desserts and drinks.

Pentecost

Greetings Everyone,

Due to Pentecost falling the day after what would have been our normal first of the month Sabbath potluck, we decided to wait and do the potluck for Pentecost.

We will have Pentecost Services at Noon on Sunday, June 8th at the IBEW Building at 2902 E. Division St., Springfield, MO.  Potluck will follow after services.

Often, what the Bible says about man’s origin and early history is dismissed and discredited. A case in point is this question: Who was the wife of Cain? Rather than look to Scripture for answers, many of us would rather rely on Darwin’s On the Origin of Species or the theories of modern evolutionists for information on the ancestries of man. Of course, Darwin’s story of the “descent of man” does not coincide with the biblical account of the origin and early history of humankind; nor do the hypotheses and theories of today’s evolutionary biologists.
