Failing to Assemble for God’s Sabbath

By: Lanora – Woman to Woman Blog –

Many times, I hear people say some of these statements to excuse them from keeping God’s Sabbath day with brethren. Unfortunately, Live Streaming services and other media have made it too easy to stay at home. Does this sound familiar? Maybe you have heard some of these excuses yourself?

It’s too far to drive.

I wouldn’t darken the door and attend with that group.

I don’t like what they teach.

I don’t like the Pastor.

I’m too tired I can just stay home and watch online.

I have family coming in and I’ll watch the Webcast later.

Granted some are not able to attend due to age, distance, sickness or other health issues. There are times we need to stay at home to quarantine ourselves due to illness so as not to spread it to others. I am not talking about those situations. I am talking about able bodied Christians that could attend but choose not to. They prefer to stay at home in the comfort of their own homes because they think it’s not necessary to attend Sabbath Services. I wonder what God thinks about that!

Sabbath Services

Aside

Greetings Everyone,

We wanted to remind you that this Sabbath is our Potluck Sabbath. I will be sending an email out to remind you. This Potluck will be BBQ Chicken and Potato casserole so please plan around that.

Also, please note that from Highway 65 and Division, Division will be closed to do some work on the railroad. They will be closed on From August 1st through the 10th which will be two Sabbaths, August 1 and August 8 so you will need to take an alternate route. Below are alternate routes for you.

Coming From the North

From North Highway 65 going South take the Kearney Exit going West (right) and then turn South (left) on Packer Road. Take Packer Road to E. Division and then turn right on Division to the IBEW Hall.

Coming From the South

From South Highway 65 going North take the Chestnut Exit going West (left) and then turn North (right) on Cedarbrook.  Take Cedarbrook to E. Division and then turn right on Division to the IBEW Hall.

See you Sabbath!

Dave

Sabbath Services

Greetings All,

Today at Sabbath Services the congregation decided to change the time that we meet each week. We will now be meeting at 10:30 a.m. instead of at Noon.  This will work better for us when we have our potlucks on the first Sabbath of the month so we aren’t eating so late in the afternoon.

Next week is the first Sabbath of the month so we will have potluck after services.

Hope to see you there!
