We invite you to spend the Feast with us this year in Harrison, Arkansas. Nestled in the beautiful Ozark Mountains, Harrison has that small town charm, with a town square, yet with the amenities of a city much larger.
The Feast of Tabernacles will be held at the beautiful Durand Center in Downtown Harrison.
Harrison is a city located in Boone County, Arkansas. It is the county seat and is named after General M. LaRue Harrison, a surveyor that laid out the city along Crooked Creek at Stifler Springs. Harrison is also the home of North Arkansas College. The City covers 10.2 square miles with a population of 13,163 (2012). Temperatures in Harrison are hot, humid summers and generally mild to cool winters.
Harrison allows you the opportunity to enjoy all that the area has to offer which has a variety of things to do like golfing, biking or hiking among the Ozark Mountains, site seeing by horseback riding, Trout fishing or canoeing on the Buffalo National River or a slower pace of strolling through Harrison’s downtown historic district.
If you prefer the indoors then think about visiting Boone County Heritage Museum, Marine Corps Legacy Museum, Mystic Caverns or see one of the amazing performances at the Lyric Theater.
The picnic on Sunday, October 4th at 1:00 p.m. will be held indoors at the Durand Center in Harrison.
Also Branson, Missouri is just a short drive away well known for its family entertainment.
Greetings,
Please note that the Springdale Arkansas Congregation was going to visit us on August 30th and they have now decided that they are going to wait until after the Feast of Tabernacles.
We will not have a potluck on the 30th of August but will have our regular potluck on the 1st Sabbath of the month which will be on September 6th. We will post on our “News Blog” when Springdale will be here next time. So stay tuned.
See you Sabbath!
Dave
