Pastor’s Update

Greetings everyone,

Just a reminder that we are not having our weekly Sabbath service tomorrow, the 30th, at the IBEW due to the hall not being available.

We are however having services on the Holy Day, May 31st, for Pentecost. Services will be at the usual time, 11:00 am but we are not able to have any food items just yet. Lanora will put on the coffee pot and if people will abide by the 6 foot rule we can come a little earlier and stay afterwards to visit. Continue reading

Pastors Update:

Dear Brethren,

I just got off the phone with the IBEW Hall and they are good with us coming back and restarting services.

I also just got off the phone with Wynn Skelton from Tyler and we spoke about what our plans are for weekly Services and the FOT.

So here is the deal! Greene County still has some requirements for us if we start meeting.

1. We can not hug or shake hands nor can we use the song books.
2. We have to practice Social Distancing
3. We need to use a mask if we have them
4. We need to use hand sanitizer as we come in the building

Some of this we will cover once we get to Services, some of it will be obvious and some of it we will have to learn how to make work. Continue reading

Pastors Update:

Dear Brethren,

This week the state of Missouri lowered their restrictions on Church meetings as did Greene County.

The requirement for Greene County is that we stay below 25 people and practice Social Distancing. I’m not sure it is possible to practice Social Distancing as we are so accustomed to shaking hands and hugging one another that we do it without even thinking about it! Continue reading

Quarantine Update

Greetings to all,

It looks like the State of Missouri is going to start loosening up the restrictions on the stay at home order May 4th but it is not clear yet how Greene County is going to respond.

If the County starts allowing “small” groups to meet for Faith assemblies then we can start planning on how to best meet the needs of our congregation.

When I say “Small” groups, I don’t see the County allowing the larger groups like James River Assembly to just go ahead without some sort of guidelines. Continue reading

Weekly update

Greetings all,

This has for sure been one of the most unusual Passovers and Days of Unleavened Bread that any of us have been through in our life times! We are isolated, not able to meet in person, stuck with news coverage that only seems to focus on anything negative they can find and just plain bored out of our minds.

People are beginning to say now that the isolation and staying at home may end up causing more harm than the initial virus itself. Just one opinion for sure but they might be right if this goes on much further. Continue reading

Passover and Days of Unleavened Bread

Dear Brethren,

It’s been a couple of tough weeks for all of us having to stay at home but like I said in the sermon a few weeks ago, we might find ourselves in captivity just like the Children of Israel did back in the day and so it is!

Obviously we will not be able to meet for the Passover, the Night to be Observed, the 1st Holy day of Unleavened Bread or the Last Day of Unleavened Bread. Continue reading

Services Special Announcement

I just got off the phone with Tyler and all the Churches are suspending services for the next two weeks due to the corona virus and after that time we will re-evaluate. We don’t want to put any of the congregation at risk.

CGI will be broadcasting services from Tyler with no one in the audience. Please be praying for everyone’s safety.

Be Safe!
David
