Are we teaching our children today how to show respect to one another and to love God with all our heart? Moses writes in Deuteronomy 6:7 that it is our daily job to teach our children. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up.
I know as a parent just as our Father in Heaven is our parent, that you love, care and try to do what is best for your children. And it is out of love that we correct them when they have made the wrong decision or have chosen the wrong path in life. Continue reading

All my life, I was told that it was illegal to pick bluebonnets in Texas because it is the state flower. I believed this for years, and I mean years. In fact, it wasn’t until a year ago that I finally decided to research it, and low and behold, it isn’t illegal. It hasn’t been illegal since 1973 to pick bluebonnets on the side of the road or, if you have permission, on private property. However, it is still illegal to pick them in state parks. My daughter just got her learner’s permit. I am still wrapping my brain around the fact that I now have a fifteen year old. I wish there was a pause button on life sometimes, but alas, there isn’t.
In any case, my daughter now can drive with an adult on the passenger side. She is so excited. Given, who wasn’t excited the first time they were able to drive? This is what got me thinking about what spiritual lesson I could learn from this new situation, and no, I am not going to talk about how to overcome the anxiety of sitting in the passenger seat, even though that is another lesson. I started thinking about how, for me, driving is no longer exciting. It is a mundane normal everyday task that I do to get from “point A to point B.” I have been driving for so many years that the excitement is no longer there. It was this that made me ask the question, “Is this what happens sometimes in our Christian walk?” Continue reading
We will have combined Services with Springdale Arkansas in Springfield on August 4th at 11:00 a.m. at the IBEW Hall. There will be Split Sermons by Wayne and David and a presentation between Services. Following Services we will have a potluck and fellowship.
