Pastors Update:

Dear Brethren,

I just got off the phone with the IBEW Hall and they are good with us coming back and restarting services.

I also just got off the phone with Wynn Skelton from Tyler and we spoke about what our plans are for weekly Services and the FOT.

So here is the deal! Greene County still has some requirements for us if we start meeting.

1. We can not hug or shake hands nor can we use the song books.
2. We have to practice Social Distancing
3. We need to use a mask if we have them
4. We need to use hand sanitizer as we come in the building

Some of this we will cover once we get to Services, some of it will be obvious and some of it we will have to learn how to make work.

The reason for not using the song books is because we are told the virus can live on the books for days at a time plus whoever picks them up would be subject to others germs.

I will have Keith go to the hall early and take out every other row of chairs and re-space what is left so we can stay 6 feet apart except families that live together can sit together. That is a Greene County requirement!

We will have a large container of hand sanitizer at the door so you can take a “squirt” when you come in. That will also satisfy Greene County’s requirement.

We do not have masks so if you want one you will have to bring it. The next part is the hardest part. We have to stand at least 6 feet apart! That will be hard to do if we are visiting so here is my suggestion at least for the next few weeks until Greene County relaxes its requirements.

Don’t come to service early. Wait until 5-10 minutes before services to arrive and then when you do, find your “normal” seating and be seated. That will help us stay apart.

Then when services are over we can all just go home. I know that is not the way we normally do it but to comply with Local Laws that is what we have to do.

Having said all of that, if you don’t feel well, STAY HOME! And if you are not comfortable to come to Services under these conditions then please stay at home.

So May 16th is good to go for Services and I will be doing a Sermon on Rightly Dividing the Word of God as I can see we have many opinions regarding what we should do and what is faith and what is not.

See you then but be safe,

David Campbell, Pastor
