Passover and Unleavened Bread Holy Days 2024

The Passover Service will be held at 7:45 pm on Sunday evening 21st of April 2024 at the IBEW Hall at 2902 E Division Street, Springfield.

Be sure to bring your own foot washing pan and towel. Please arrive about 10-15 minutes before services begin and take a seat.

The Service is for Baptized members. It is a solemn memorial of the death of our Savior that we keep annually at the appointed time according to scripture to commemorate his death.

We will see you at the Service!

The Night to be much remembered will be held in our homes on Monday evening, April 22nd this year due to the distance everyone has to travel.

The First day of Unleavened Bread Services will be held on Tuesday, April 23rd at 11:00 a.m. at the IBEW Hall. There will be snacks after Services.

The Last day of Unleavened Bread Services will be held on Monday, April 29th at 11:00 a.m. at the IBEW Hall. We will have a potluck following Services.

Pastors Update:

Greetings Everyone,

“Houston, we have a problem!”

That was the call from the Apollo 13 crew upon discovering that something was seriously wrong with their flight capsule while on their way for what was to be a moon landing.

I hate to be an alarmist but there is definitely something wrong with our society today and just like the Apollo’s ability to continue with their mission, we find ourselves in a situation where we may not be able to continue in ours as well if we don’t stop and assess the situation.

Unless we stop and evaluate our actions today, we may be putting the lives of others in jeopardy tomorrow!  The Covid-19 virus is real to some, some think it is a hoax while others are dying from it; at least that is what the reports say.

What is the truth? We have no idea! However the cases are on the rise and because people are not taking proper precautions the positive number of infections is at an all time high while the spread rate is on the increase.

I just spoke with Wynn Skelton yesterday regarding what States may and may not allow come Feast time. Will we be allowed to cross state lines; will Motel and Hotel’s be allowing stays from people coming in from out of state? We simply do not know how to answer these questions at this time.

In the meantime, we need to focus on how to best protect the people within our own congregations. Since we have learned that many can carry and spread the disease without showing symptoms it has become necessary to require that anyone attending Sabbath Services wear a mask! NO EXCEPTIONS! I recommend that you bring and wear your own mask but if you do not have one there will be some available at the door.

If this offends you then make other arrangements but do not come to services unmasked!

I expect the City of Springfield to pass a resolution this week to require this anyway so this is just getting ahead of the curve. We would have to comply with local requirements once established so we just as well start preparing.

It’s this or we have to stop having weekly services!

Take care of yourselves,

David Campbell, Pastor

Pastor’s Update

Greetings everyone,

Just a reminder that we are not having our weekly Sabbath service tomorrow, the 30th, at the IBEW due to the hall not being available.

We are however having services on the Holy Day, May 31st, for Pentecost. Services will be at the usual time, 11:00 am but we are not able to have any food items just yet. Lanora will put on the coffee pot and if people will abide by the 6 foot rule we can come a little earlier and stay afterwards to visit. Continue reading

Pastors Update:

Greetings Everyone,

We will hold services this Sabbath, May 23rd, at our usual meeting hall. We are still under the same guidelines and restrictions as we were last Sabbath but some new guidelines will be taking affect this weekend.

We don’t have all the details yet but Greene County is lifting some of the restrictions on Churches and allowing for larger gatherings but with social distancing still in affect! So try to stay at least 6 feet apart while speaking to someone! I know that this is hard to do but we are finding out that as many as 30% of the people carrying the virus are showing no symptoms! So depending on where you have been and who you have been in contact with, you may feel fine and still be able to infect others. So to show love for others, practice the social distancing! Pastors Update:

Dear Brethren,

I just got off the phone with the IBEW Hall and they are good with us coming back and restarting services.

I also just got off the phone with Wynn Skelton from Tyler and we spoke about what our plans are for weekly Services and the FOT.

So here is the deal! Greene County still has some requirements for us if we start meeting.

1. We can not hug or shake hands nor can we use the song books.
2. We have to practice Social Distancing
3. We need to use a mask if we have them
4. We need to use hand sanitizer as we come in the building

Some of this we will cover once we get to Services, some of it will be obvious and some of it we will have to learn how to make work. Continue reading
