Pastor’s Update

Greetings everyone,

Just a reminder that we are not having our weekly Sabbath service tomorrow, the 30th, at the IBEW due to the hall not being available.

We are however having services on the Holy Day, May 31st, for Pentecost. Services will be at the usual time, 11:00 am but we are not able to have any food items just yet. Lanora will put on the coffee pot and if people will abide by the 6 foot rule we can come a little earlier and stay afterwards to visit.

Some are having a hard time remembering to back up a bit while talking to others but that is normal given that we normally shake hands and hug one another as a greeting. We hope to have masks Sunday if they arrive! That will help if we drift a little closer than we are supposed to.

The CDC is now saying that as many as 80% of people infected with the virus do not show any symptoms but can pass the virus along. So no one knows who is infected and who are not these days. Look at what happened at the Great Clips hair salon when one person came to work sick. Pretty sad now that over a hundred people have to stay in quarantine over one person coming to work when they did not know they were sick!

Since Pentecost is a Holy Day we will take up an offering according to what the scripture instructs us to do. Normally all tithes and offerings stay in the local account but our custom is to send the Holy Day offerings to the home office to help with the bigger picture of preaching the Gospel. We do allow you to tell us to keep it local if that is your desire. Having missed two months of paying hall rent we have built up a decent amount in the local account so local funds are not an issue right now.

Lanora will put a basket on the coffee table for the envelopes to be deposited before or after services!

Ramona has asked for prayer for her sister Jackie regarding some multiple health issues. Also remember Katie, Judy’s step daughter, as well.
