Quarantine Update
Greetings to all,
It looks like the State of Missouri is going to start loosening up the restrictions on the stay at home order May 4th but it is not clear yet how Greene County is going to respond.
If the County starts allowing “small” groups to meet for Faith assemblies then we can start planning on how to best meet the needs of our congregation.
When I say “Small” groups, I don’t see the County allowing the larger groups like James River Assembly to just go ahead without some sort of guidelines.
Having said that, even if the county does say it is Ok for small Churches to start meeting, I’m sure they will impose some sort of distancing and may ask us to wear mask or something along those lines.
Because we are such a small group we have some options that larger groups will not have. We can spread out in the room as much as needed! We can move chairs anyway we want and of course families who live together can still sit together. The rest of us need to stay 6 feet apart from one another.
No hand shakes and no hugs! I know that is not normal for us but we need to take all the precautions we can as most of us fall into the 60 plus category and are considered high risk.
I might add that anyone who does not feel it is time to get out may go ahead and stay at home. This is your call, not mine!
I have no date yet when we will hold the next Service as I am waiting to see what develops in the next week and days ahead.
In the meantime, keep Keith Slocum and Betty Slocum in your prayers as Keith’s Dad and Betty’s Husband passed away Sunday of this week. It was expected but still is a great loss for the family and for all who knew Darrel Slocum.
I’ll be in touch when I have more details.
We are a day closer to the Kingdom of God then we were yesterday.
David Campbell, Pastor
